Woman who died in Malaysia was not the fugitive doctor, say Kerala cops

A woman died after falling off a building at Subangjaya Selankor in Malaysia on September 29.

KANNUR: Putting rumours to rest, the police have confirmed the woman who died in Malaysia was not Dr Omana-the controversial heroine of the blood chilling crime story,  but Merlin Ruby, 37, hailing from Thiruvananthapuram.

The Assistant Commissioner, DCRBI, Thiruvananthapuram, informed Thaliparamba DySP K V Venugopal on Friday the woman who died after falling off a building at Subangjaya Selankor in Malaysia was Merlin Ruby. The accident took place on September 29.

After the relatives of Merlin came across the advertisement in the newspapers and recognised her photograph,  they went to Malaysia and claimed the body on October 18. However, owing to a technical error,  the advertisement was published again in the newspapers which led to the confusion.

Though the deceased has been identified , the whereabouts of the missing doctor remains a mystery.
