THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Left Front will observe protest day on November 8, the first anniversary of the controversial demonetisation drive, in protest against the Union Government’s economic policies. In a statement issued here, LDF convener Vaikom Viswan said the Indian economy has suffered a major setback owing to the Narendra Modi Government’s economic policies. Demonetisation has created major repercussions in the nation’s economy. The Prime Minister and the Finance Minister should reveal to the people about the quantity of black money that came out with the demonetisation drive.

The LDF convenor said the Union Government’s move to supply 2.11 lakh crore to public sector banks is aimed at supporting major corporates. Registering protest against all these policies, the Left Front has decided to observe nation-wide protest day on November 8. In connection with this, protest meets will be organised in front of the RBI office in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam districts.
