Cleanliness movement: Modi writes to Mohanlal

Prime Minster Narendra Modi has written to actor Mohanlal seeking his support for the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement as part of the Union Government’s Swachh Bharat campaign.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minster Narendra Modi has written to actor Mohanlal seeking his support for the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement as part of the Union Government’s Swachh Bharat campaign.“Cinema is one of the most effective media to bring about change on a large scale. A much-adored film personality, you have the power to impact people’s lives positively. Your participation in the Swachhata Mission will help connect millions to the noble initiative,” Modi said in his letter.

 Stating the actor’s participation would further inspire others to be a part of the movement, Modi said Mohanlal could share his experiences on the Narendra Modi app. “Let us ensure the coming days are about living the mantra of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’,” Modi said in his letter.Meanwhile, Mohanlal has voiced his support for the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement.  “I support ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement and dedicate myself to this great and noble cause. Let’s build a new (clean) India,” the actor said in a Facebook post.
