THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s statement in the Assembly, on Transport Minister Thomas Chandy not violating law in connection with the allegation of filling the Marthandam Lake, was a breach of privilege.
Reports have come out that Chandy’s tourism company had violated the laws, he said. Kainakari village officer on May 26 had submitted a report saying there was a possibility the construction will commence in the puramboke and surplus land if it was not taken back immediately. Despite such a report, the Chief Minister had told the Assembly on August 17 that Chandy had not violated any law.
