ED attaches properties of V M Radhakrishnan

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached properties worth `23 crore owned by businessman V M Radhakrishnan in connection with the Malabar Cements corruption case registered against him.

KOZHIKODE: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached properties worth `23 crore owned by businessman V M Radhakrishnan in connection with the Malabar Cements corruption case registered against him. According to ED officers, properties worth `23 crore spread across three districts - Wayanad, Kozhikode and Palakkad - were attached.  The ED has earlier raided the premises of  V M Radhakrishnan to collect details about the wealth he had accumulated between 2004 and 2008.

As per the investigation, he was accused of committing financial irregularities in Malabar Cements between 2004 and 2008. The ED had also raided Radhakrishnan’s office in Palakkad and his chartered accountant’s office in Perinthalmanna. ED sources said the department had collected details of the properties owned by Radhakrishnan and the investments made by him. The case relates to the import of fly ash violating rules.
