Mobile apps for public: Police invite suggestions

State police on Monday invited suggestions from the public to improve the mobile applications developed by the police for the public.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State police on Monday invited suggestions from the public to improve the mobile applications developed by the police for the public. State Police Chief Loknath Behera said the public can download the applications from the Google playstore. He further added the public can submit their suggestions between September 27 and October 3 for improving the features of the applications. 
The police have recently developed four mobile applications for the safety and traffic awareness among the public. 

Raksha - It is an application which deals with the information pertaining to the all the police stations in the state. The applications include the contact numbers of police officers including Station House Officers and inspectors. It also has emergency helpline numbers and woman safety guidelines to ensure around-the-clock woman safety, news related to police, to find out the location of a police station, alert messages and FAQ related to the procedures.  

Citizen safety: The mobile applications which has been developed for the safety of senior citizens and women while they are travelling. They can inform the police when they are in distress while travelling by sending an SMS or a direct call. The application also helps them to inform about the journey route to their relatives or friends. l Know Your Jurisdiction: The application helps to identify and inform the police station of a particular jurisdiction. 

Traffic Guru: It is a game developed by the police to bring awareness among the public on complying the rules and regulations. All suggestions and queries can be submitted through email. Behera also said the police would make necessary changes if the public makes appropriate suggestions.
