The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has invited applications for admission to fully residential cricket academies from boys and girls in the junior and senior categories.

KOCHI: The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has invited applications for admission to fully residential cricket academies from boys and girls in the junior and senior categories. The first-level selection trials will be held in all districts next week. Shortlisted candidates will have to attend the final selections at respective zonal centres in the last week of April.

Interested persons should contact the District Cricket Association offices to register and take part in the selection trials. The KCA runs eight cricket academies in the state. The zonal academies for boys are located in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Thalassery. The zonal academies for girls are in Kottayam, Idukki and Wayanad.

KCA also runs a senior college academy for girls in Aluva. The academies provide trainees with state-of-the-art facilities and employs modern coaching practices and techniques. The KCA provides hostel facility with quality food, cricket gears, dress, systematic training and coaching for the selected players. The KCA will render all assistance for the students to get enrolled in reputed schools where the zonal academies are located.

The applicants in the senior category should be under 19 years of age. In the junior category, only those below the age of 16 and seeking admission to Class IX or below will be eligible.
