KOZHIKODE:  Vice -President M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday strongly condemned the political murders witnessed in the state and urged the political outfits to resolve inter-party issues ideologically rather than employ violent means. Without taking names, he called upon the public to isolate forces which perpetrate violence. The Vice-President was speaking at a national seminar on ‘Whither Indian Economy’ and ‘Whither Indian Judiciary’ held here to mark BJP leader P S Sreedharan Pillai’s 40 years as an advocate, besides the completion of his 100th work. “Violence is not the solution to any problem.

It will destroy the social fabric and affect the particular area’s development. The time has come to put a full stop to violence in the state,” he said. “It is natural to have differences. But you should sort them out through dialogue. Resolve them ideologically, not through violent means,” the Vice-President said. Naidu said political parties can indeed have ideological differences but they should not harbour political enmity towards one another.

According to him, the event held in Pillai’s honour is a fine example of healthy political coexistence since the participants cut across political lines. The Vice-President’s remarks were apparently prompted by the recent murder of Youth Congress leader M Shuhaib near Mattannur in Kannur.
