PALAKKAD: The state government should publish a white paper on the money spent for the welfare of Adivasis in Attappadi over the years as their condition now is worse off than before, said BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan.

He was speaking to the media after visiting the family of Madhu, who was lynched by a mob on Thursday.
Kummanam said the BJP will be with Madhu, his family and the Adivasi community until justice is delivered.

The BJP president said that the Centre had spent Rs 500 crore for tribals in Attappadi this year, of which Rs 147 crore was for the primitive and vulnerable tribes. But many families were yet to get a house or drinking water. Kummanam said there was a conspiracy in the move to take Madhu’s body to Thrissur for post-mortem when all the necessary facilities were available in Palakkad. He alleged Madhu’s body was kept outside the mortuary at Thrissur Medical College for one hour and humiliated. The government should be answerable for it, he said.Kummanam was accompanied by Hindu Aikya Vedi state president K P Shashikala and BJP district president E Krishnadas. The leaders also attended Madhu’s funeral.
