KOCHI: Expressing concern over SFI leader Abhimanyu’s murder at the Maharaja’s College, the Kerala High Court on Tuesday said it cannot afford to lose anymore life in the name of campus politics.

The High Court flayed the the state and observed it has failed to adhere to its commitments made to the court to prevent politics and violence on campuses in the earlier proceedings.

A Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice A K Jayasankaran Nambiar issued the order based on a petition filed by L S Ajoy, Chengannur seeking to ban political activities from school and colleges. Despite repeated directions by the High Court, the state machinery has failed in controlling it, which has resulted in Abhimanyu’s murder.
