THRISSUR: Known for his short-temper, P C George MLA lived up to his image by creating a ruckus at the Paliyekkara toll plaza on Tuesday night and broke the stop barrier. He was angered the attendants at the booth delayed in attending his car.
George, who has courted several controversies in the past, was on his way to Kochi from Thrissur when the incident happened. The CCTV video footage at the plaza showing the MLA getting out of the car and damaging the barrier, along with his aides, went viral on social media, including WhatsApp, forcing the Poonjar MLA to go on the defensive.
The MLA explained his car was not allowed to pass despite having the ‘MLA’ board. Some of George’s ‘antics’ include slapping a canteen boy at the MLA’s hostel for delivering food late; waving a pistol at some estate workers for allegedly shouting slogans against him in connection with a land dispute last year.
