THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 27-year-old jail warden working at Poojappura district prison was found hanging in his house under construction near Perunkadavila in Neyyattinkara taluk.

Both the hands of the deceased Joshin Das was found tied to his body while his mouth was stuffed with cloth, raising suspicion among his friends and relatives that it was not a case of suicide.

As per Marayamuttom police, Joshin's body was found by his relative Sherin Raj at the house that was under construction. Joshin was staying at his ancestral house located about 500m away from the place of incident.

Joshin's weekly off was on Thursday and he had gone out in the evening to pick up his uniform from a local tailoring shop at Perunkadavila. When he didn't return on time, Sherin went out to search him. When he went to the house that was under construction, Joshin's bike was parked outside. Going inside, he found Joshin hanging from the fan hook in the bedroom.

The belongings of Joshin, including his mobile and watch, were found scattered nearby the body, while the construction materials were trampled over.

Sherin informed the news of death to Joshin's family, who in turn alerted police.

Neyyattinkara DYSP B Harikumar and party reached the spot and put up security around the house. The family members, meanwhile, told the police that Joshin had no reasons to commit suicide and the death was suspicious. The inquest was done and the body was shifted to the Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
