SIT obtained leads in Jesna case, govt informs HC

The state had earlier submitted as part of the investigation, about 250 people were questioned, the statements of 130 witnesses were recorded and around one lakh call details were analysed.

KOCHI: The state government on Friday informed the High Court the Special Investigation Team (SIT) had got some leads into the missing of Jesna Maria James, 22, of Ranni, but could not reveal them at this stage.

Senior government pleader P Narayanan also handed over the probe details to the court. The court observed the SIT had obtained some details after examining the documents and given more time to investigate the case. The court posted further hearing to August 2.

The State Police Chief had also announced a reward of `5 lakh to anyone providing useful information for tracing out Jesna.
