Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh denies links with July 30 hartal called by Hindu organisations

The organisation’s ‘Prant Karyavah’ (state secretary) P Gopalankutty Master said RSS was hopeful the Supreme Court would examine all aspects before deciding on the issue.

KOZHIKODE: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has no links with the hartal called by certain groups on July 30 in the wake of the Supreme Court hearing a case relating to women’s entry to Sabarimala, the organisation’s ‘Prant Karyavah’ (state secretary) P Gopalankutty Master said.

“Some organisations claiming to represent Hindus have called for the hartal. The entry of women to Sabarimala is not an issue that should be settled on the streets. The matter is under the apex court’s consideration. A consensus can be arrived at among the devotees through dialogue,” he said in a statement here.

He said RSS was hopeful the Supreme Court would examine all aspects before deciding on the issue.
He also demanded a probe to find out the organisations which had given the hartal call.
