Vigilance case against Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief Rahul R Nair closed

The inquiry commission and special court (vigilance) quashed the vigilance case against Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief Rahul R Nair on Tuesday.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The inquiry commission and special court (vigilance) quashed the vigilance case against Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief Rahul R Nair on Tuesday. The court accepted the closure report filed by the VACB after it gave a clean chit to the officer citing there was no evidence to prove Rahul had demanded and accepted a bribe.

The VACB report also upheld Rahul’s view the allegations were raised by some quarry owners to settle personal scores.

The Vigilance had registered a case against Rahul in 2014 after a quarry owner in Pathanamthitta alleged he had taken `17 lakh as bribe to allow him to reopen the quarry that was locked down by the IPS officer.
