THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala police battalion commandant and Additional Director General of Police, Sudesh Kumar has been removed from his post. The action follows a complaint received from his official driver that daughter of the officer had beaten him up and injured him.
Police driver Gavaskar is admitted to hospital. His wife had met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan directly and complained against the officer. Chief Minister had categorically stated that there will be strict action in the matter and had called upon South Zone ADGP Anil Kanth and gathered details from him.
There are also complaints that Sudesh Kumar has made his police orderlies do menial work at his residence. It is learnt that he will be given posting in some other government department, outside police.
Meanwhile, State Police Chief Loknath Behera had assured an impartial probe into the complaint by the police driver that he was assaulted by the Sudesh Kumar's daughter. A Crime Branch investigation has also been ordered into the incident.
