The earworm song that was released on June 14 has already turned viral on social media platforms and has garnered a huge support from music-lovers all over the state.

"During the Nipah virus infection, we found that a majority of the people were feeling aloof and lonely," said artist coordinator Regilesh Kumar.

"Yet we were able to contain the infection through the efforts of several people. So we decided to come out with a song that would praise the endeavour of the people and show how boldly we tackled the crisis," he said.

‘Bye Bye Nipah’ features renowned doctors and nurses working in hospitals across the district, apart from students and shop-owners. The video has been shot in prime locations in the city including the SM Street, Kozhikode beach and malls, where people were reluctant to visit during the Nipah virus infection.

The song has been penned down by Shaji Kumar, while the music has been composed by Sai Balan.
