THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The state government has decided to give a financial assistance of 4 lakh each to dependents of monsoon calamity victims, including the Karinchola landslide victims. Families of the deceased will be given `4 lakh while those who had their land and houses washed out in the landslide will get an additional `6 lakh as part of a special package.

Further, those who lost their houses completely in the rain fury will get Rs 4 lakh under the Life Scheme and those with partially damaged houses will get Rs 50,000 as the funds earmarked as per the Central norm is insufficient to meet the expenses of the affected, said Revenue Minister  E Chandrasekharan.
