THRISSUR: The Aloor Police have registered a case against Swami Sreenarayana Dharmavrathan, head of the Sivagiri Madom in Kottenallur, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Tuesday. He was accused of sexually abusing three boys.

According to Vimal V V, SI of Aloor police station, "The complaint was forwarded by the Child Line after their primary inquiry. We registered the case after recording the statements by the children." He added the accused person is absconding, while the police have intensified the search for him.

Three boys of 12, 13 and 16 years, who were staying in the Madom, because of their poor financial condition, were shifted to the Government Children's home as soon as the Child Line came to know about the issue.

"We got a complaint in the 1098 helpline. The complaint was not about sexual abuse. It just said four children were nor secure in the ashram. We then conducted an inquiry during which the three children relieved the sexual abuse," said an official of the District Child Line. He added the licence and other details about the Madom, which allowed four children to stay in their facility, would be examined by the Child Welfare Committee.
