KANNUR: A 49-year-old man from Edakkanam near Iritty has become the latest casualty of the dengue outbreak sweeping the district’s hilly regions. Manalel Surendran’s death brings to three the number of persons in Peravur Assembly segment who succumbed to the deadly fever during the latest dengue outbreak.
Initially, Surendran had sought treatment at the Iritty Taluk hospital for fever. After dengue was confirmed, he was shifted to the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital and from there to a private hospital at Kozhikode where the end came on Monday evening.
