Amal emerges on top as boys rule the roost in engg entrance

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amal Mathew of Manjoor, Kottayam, with a score of 565 out of 600, secured first rank in the Kerala engineering entrance examination, Health Minister K K Shylaja announced on behalf of Education Minister C Raveendranath on Wednesday.

Samik Mohan of Mukkam, Kozhikode (424th) and Pavan Raj, Kasargod (2,961) came on top in the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe category respectively.Abhirami R of Kollam secured first in Architecture with a score of 355 out of 400.

Aravind P of Malappuram (145th) and Amrutha K S of Idukki (2,135) came on top in the SC and ST category respectively.Of the 90,233 candidates appeared for the examination, 58,268 qualified, with 46,686 being included in the rank list. Boys outshone girls in the top 10. Ernakulam (15) contributed the most number of students to the top 100 while Malappuram (14) and Thiruvananthapuram (13) came second and third.
