Almost all fancy numbers were sold at high prices. We are expecting a huge auction on Monday,” added Franklin. MVD officers said several people have delayed vehicle registration eying on the new series. “Those who took temporary registration last month are waiting for the new series after paying the penalty for late registration. The number of participants is high compared to the last series,” said an MVD officer.

The officers said the new series would fetch a revenue of over `50 lakh in the current financial year.
“Several numbers in the CN category are also available for booking and are getting a tremendous response from vehicle owners. Already there are four buyers for the KL-07-CN-9999 category. Heated auction can be seen in this category too,” said a motor vehicle inspector.
