SABARIMALA: Sending a strong warning against women aged below 50 from entering Sabarimala,  52-year-old Latha Kumaran hailing from Tamil Nadu was allowed to enter the Sannidhanam only after showing her age proof.

The incident happened on Saturday morning when the devotees blocked Latha in front of the Sannidhanam suspecting that she was below 50. Chanting ‘Swamiye Saranam’ the devotees blocked her in front of the Sannidhanam. She had come for darsan along with her husband.

As the devotees protested, the police intervened in the matter. They asked her to produce the proof of age and it was after the cop confirmed her age that Latha was allowed to climb the holy steps. “We checked the proof of her age and confirmed that she was above 50. The devotees suspected that she was under 50,” police said.
