SABARIMALA: As reports and arguments are flying thick and fast that the Union government wanted the state to immediately implement the Supreme Court verdict, Kerala BJP leaders on Saturday said the Centre had only warned the state about vulnerable law and order situation and the adequate steps that need to be taken to enhance security at the hill shrine.

“We have no idea who disseminated such wrong information. The Centre has only alerted the three southern states to take adequate steps to ensure law and order,” said former BJP state president and national executive member V Muralidharan MP. He added the alert was not specific to Kerala but also to Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. “As far as we know, the Centre has not issued any directive to the state to implement the Supreme Court order immediately,” said Muralidharan.

“We have the copy of the letter sent by Ministry of Home Affairs to the state and there is no such direction,” said BJP Kerala general secretary K Surendran.
