SABARIMALA: Amid the furore by some women activists aged below 50 demanding they be allowed entry into Sabarimala, a nine-year-old girl hailing from Madurai in Tamil Nadu entered the holy shrine holding a placard saying she will return to Sabarimala after she turns 50.

Janani,  believed to have reached the hill shrine on Friday night, was unambiguous in her stand on the SC order allowing women of all ages to enter Sabarimala. The yellow placard said  she is nine-years-old and she will wait till she turns 50 to come back to Sabarimala. The photo of the girl carrying the placard went viral on social media.

“ A kid can understand the sentiments of the people but there are several who are unable to do so. She is sending out a strong message to the women who wish to undermine the age-old rituals at Sabarimala,” said a devotee.
