Ernakulam North Police on Thursday registered a case against Abdul Nazar Madhani and another PDP activist Muhammad Asraf following a direction of the Ernakulam Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Economic Offences) on a petition filed by T G Mohandas, director of the Responsible Citizens’ Foundation, Kochi.

The police have registered the case under IPC Sections 120(B), 307, 511 and 34 for murder attempt and criminal conspiracy.

Mohandas alleged that A V George, Circle Inspector, Kozhikode Town, on April 6, 1998, had submitted before the T K Muhammad Commission a statement by K Muhammad of Kanthapuram in Kozhikode, 34th witness in Marad case, that Madhani had arraigned Asraf for bid to murder Parameswaran and Fr Alvi.
