Amma Kerala Strikers, the celebrity cricket team of Kerala, will lock horns with Telungu Warriors at their first match of this year’s Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) in Bangalore on Sunday.

The home match of Kerala Strikers will be played at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium on February 9.

“The team, which played till the semi-final in last year’s edition, is starting its campaign with high hopes,” said Idavela Babu, manager of the Kerala team.

Actor Mohanlal will be the non-playing captain of the team. In his absence, Rajeev Pillai will lead the team.  Binesh Kodiyeri is the vice-captain.

Indrajith, who was the vice-captain in the last two editions, will not play this year due to his busy shooting schedule.  Bhavana and Mythili are the brand ambassadors of the Kerala team.

Two CCL matches will be played in Kochi on February 9.  Karnataka Bulldozers will play against Veer Marathi at the first match that will begin by 3 pm.  Kerala Strikers and Chennai Rhinos will play the second match at 6.30 pm.
