CUTTACK: Administrative member of Central Administrative Tribunal, New Delhi, Dr Ramesh Chandra Panda, who is also the founder of Omfed in Orissa, was conferred with the Ruchi Bharat Gourab Samman here yesterday.
The award was bestowed on him by SAT Chairman Justice Nityananda Prusty in the presence of former ambassador to the USA Lalit Mansingh and BPUT Vice-Chancellor Prof Omkarnath Mohanty at a function at Sahid Bhawan here.
Toppers of the High School Certificate examinations this year Bibek Bishal Mehena of Saraswati Vidyamandir, Rourkela, Sanket Das of Saraswati Sishu Vidyamandir, Berhampur, and Subhashree Rout, who came first among girls, were felicitated and awarded with a citation and Rs 10,000 each.
Sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik was conferred the Ruchi Orissa Gaurab award, Chairman of Biotechayur Dr Abhay Kumar Pati with Ruchi Pravasi Oriya Samman and the fifth ranker in the Civil Services examination Dr Bijayketan Upadyay with Vidyasagar award.
