PHULBANI: Phulbani Fast Track Court on Saturday acquitted four persons in two arson cases during the Kandhamal riots in 2008, for lack of evidence.

Ramarao Nayak of Lingagada and Suryakant Digal of Banjamaha had lodged  complaints with G Udayagiri and Rakia police respectively. Following which two persons in each case were  arrested.  On Thursday, the court had acquitted 23 persons.  The Fast Track Court-I Judge  acquitted six accused due to lack of evidence in a case under Raikia police  limits, lodged by Madhusudan Naik of Pidusubali village.  Similarly, the Fast Track Court-II Judge set free another 17 in an arson case.
