BHUBANESWAR: A middle-aged woman Bimala Behera was found hanging from the ceiling of her home in Dhiriuti slums under Mancheswar police limits here on Sunday.
Bimala’s husband Niranjan was not at home when the incident took place. Only their seven-year-old daughter Banita was present. Niranjan has alleged that his friend Bulu Behera might be behind the incident. Recently the two had a fight following which Niranjan had been attacked and he sustained serious injuries. While a case of unnatural death has been lodged, police have not ruled out foul play.
MANAGER ROBBED OF ` 7 L: Manager of a distribution firm was allegedly robbed of ` 7 lakh by two bike-borne youths from near the Regional Science Park here. The incident occurred two days back. The complainant, manager of a Sahid Nagar-based firm, was on his way to deposit the cash in a bank when the miscreants intercepted him and snatched the cash before fleeing the area.
A case has been lodged with Sahid Nagar Police in this regard but no one has been arrested yet.
