Additional Charges as Officers Go for Training

BHUBANESWAR: Even as a massive bureaucratic reshuffle is on the cards, four senior IAS officers have been relieved from their duties from Friday to attend mid-career training programme at Mussoorie in Uttarakhand.

 Secretary of the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes (ST&SC) Development Department Santosh Sarangi, Higher Education Secretary Aparajita Sarangi, Energy Secretary G Mathivathanan and Mission Director, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) Pramod Kumar Meherda will attend the training programme from April 30 to June 22.

 Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Secretary Madhu Sudan Padhi will be in additional charge of ST&SC Development Department while Secretary of the newly created Employment and Technical Education and Training Department hold additional charge of Higher Education Department.

 Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Ranglal Jamuda was given the additional charge of Energy Department while Secretary of Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department will be in charge of the Parliamentary Affairs Department.

 Five IAS officers of the 1996 batch who have been recently promoted to the rank of commissioner are likely to be posted as secretaries. Even after promotion to suppertime scale, Arabinda Padhee is continuing as director, special projects, in the Panchayati Raj Department while his wife Usha Padhee is the special secretary-cum-director of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) and TRIPTI.

 Managing Director of Orissa Mining Corporation Saswat Mishra is continuing in the same post while Vishal Dev is the Municipal Commissioner.

 Vir Vikram Yadav who was given a proforma promotion to the rank of commissioner is currently on Central deputation.
