Everyone is into flash mobs and UTV Bindass is banking on this. The channel’s new show, Live Out Loud, helps participants express their feelings to their loved ones with some help from the Bindass Dance Squad. We’re talking about 250 coordinated dancers playing  the messenger. The team performs in public places and the show is hosted by Natasha Suri and Pravesh Rana. As for the Dance Squad, they are helped along by choreographers Uma and Gaiti (of Rockstar fame).

Second chances

Live Out Loud will see contestants going through tough situations before they are given the opportunity to convey their message. “There are instances where a father had a bitter fight with his son and had asked him to leave. The latter wants to apologise. Then, there were members of an old band who wanted to come together. The show is about giving these people a second chance,” says Suri, who along with Rana, offers a perspective to the situation.

Best of two

It’s not as easy as it appears. “You need to earn the chance to be on the show. There are two contenders on every episode and we give them tasks. Whoever does it better gets the chance,” says Suri. What kind of tasks? “We made one contestant perform with other band members who gave her a tough time. Yet she behaved properly. Then there was one person who lied to his family. He was made to go out on the streets and speak the truth,” adds Suri.

To the beat

For choreographers Uma and Gaiti, it was the concept that rocked. “It is more real as it is about helping people connect and getting other people involved for one single purpose,” says Uma, adding that around 30 of the dancers are from their own team, with the rest being regular people. “There are those who join on the spot as well,” he continues, adding that preparation takes only two days.

Live Out Loud premiered on Saturday at 7 pm.
