Around 12 agitating jail employees from across the district were admitted to various hospitals on Wednesday after their condition deteriorated.
They had began their fast unto death on Tuesday under the aegis of All Odisha Jail Employees’ Association. Among those hospitalised were four workers of Rourkela Special Jail and five from Sundargarh District Jail.

Twenty jail employees were admitted to the MKCG Medical on Wednesday after their condition deteriorated.
Sambalpur:
Similarly at Sambalpur, 10 jail warders were shifted to district headquarters hospital here on Wednesday. They were demanding salary structure at par with police. Their other demands include Grade IV employee status for the warders and extension of all facilities meant for the Grade IV employees to them.
