Raju Mishra presented FitFat Bioscope award

Acclaimed cinematographer, director and composer Raju Mishra was presented the FitFat Bioscope Award 2012 at a glittering ceremony here on Sunday. The award, comprising a silver filigree replica of a bioscope and Rs 25,000 cash was given to him by actor of yesteryear, who featured in Mishra’s first film Ulka, Gloria Mohanty.

A gold medallist in cinematography from FTII Pune, Mishra made his first film Ulka, which is more known for its song ‘Abhimanini e Amaniya Dheu’.

He went on to direct blockbusters like ‘Jaga Akhi Sabu dekhuchi’, ‘Asuchi Mo kalia suna’, ‘Pua Mora Kala Thakura’, ‘Jor Jaar Mulak Taar’, etc. He has also directed seven Assamese films.

The award ceremony comprised a novel 45- minute audio-visual documentary interspersed with live performances on the life and works of Mishra.
