BHUBANESWAR: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has condemned the attack on Panchayati Raj Minister Maheswar Mohanty while he was addressing an election meeting at Bramhana Alandi village in Puri district on Monday.
Leader of the NCP Legislature Party (NCPLP) Amar Prasad Satpathy has said in a statement that the attack was pre-planned to kill Mohanty. Satpathy on Wednesday visited Mohanty at the Kalinga Hospital and wished him a speedy recovery.
Satpathy said that persons who planned the attack should be arrested and punished. Besides, all political parties should also try to refrain from resorting to violence during the campaign, he said.
