BHUBANESWAR: Three more deaths were reported from a private hospital of the City in the last 24 hours taking the liquor toll to 33. At least 68 more persons are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
The deceased have been identified as Kedar Nayak, Babuli Nayak and Rabindra Kumar Kar, all residents of villages under Balianta police limits.
At least four persons were admitted to Hi Tech Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday evening. As their condition deteriorated, they were shifted to the intensive care unit. One of the three died on Wednesday night while the other two succumbed on Thursday morning, a spokesman of the hospital said.
“We don’t know what exactly they had taken but all of them had consumed alcohol in some form,” said the hospital sources.
