PURI: Director-General of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Goutam Sengupta visited the Puri temple and inspected the on-going de-plastering of the Jagamohan and the main entrance, Simhadwar.

Sengupta told mediapersons that de-plastering revealed that there were many voids in the Jagamohan and stainless steel beams would be used to fix them, adding that skilled workers have been asked to take utmost care. He, however, said it would be difficult to predict the expected completion

period of the work. There was no imminent danger to this 12th century temple, he added.

The Superintendent of Archaeological Survey of India, Bhubaneswar circle, Ashok Patel and expert committee member GC Mitra accompanied Goutam Sengupta.
