BHUBANESWAR: Thirty students were booked and one was expelled for malpractice on the first day of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Plus II exams on Friday.

  Bhubaneswar is the central zone and was monitored by 17 squads. Similarly, there was strict monitoring in other three zones - Baripada, Berhampur and Sambalpur.

The council will intensify monitoring for the rest of the examinations.  

  “This year we are very serious about proper conduct of examinations and will not tolerate any kind of malpractice’’, said a senior official of the council. The student who was expelled was appearing for exam at Birmaharajpur College in Subarnapur district.

 Around 141 nodal centres have been set up to monitor the exam process and keep it free from malpractice.

 The consolidated report of the squads’ visit to exam centres will be given to the higher education secretary Aparajita Sarangi the following morning.
