BERHAMPUR: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested Ambajhari panchayat secretary Krushnachandra Pulia from Boudh district.
The arrest came following a complaint of misappropriation of government funds that were sanctioned for development works in the panchayat during 2002-06. The complaint was lodged in 2009.
During investigation, it was revealed that Pulia had allegedly embezzled funds worth `3 lakh. Investigation officer of the case Dologovinda Parida submitted his report to the Berhampur Vigilance SP under whom, the Boudh jurisdiction falls. On a tip off, Pulia was arrested in the morning.
