NABARANGPUR: The mortal remains of sub-inspector of Khairput in Malkangiri, Krishna Chandra Rath, were consigned to flames in his native Jharigam here on Saturday. Krishna was shot dead by Maoists near the Khairput police station on Thursday.
He was accorded the State honour and District Collector Sivabrata Dash and SP Niti Sekhar were present during the last rites. Krishna’s body was taken around the town in a procession after it was brought in from Malkangiri in the morning.
