BJD stir disrupts train services

Train services were disrupted on Cuttack-Bhadrak route on Sunday as large number of BJD workers led by Korei legislator Pritiranjan Ghadei sat on a dharna and blocked the track at Jajpur-Keonjkhar Road railway station. They were demanding upgradation of the station and stoppage of trains like Coromandal and Rajdhani Express.

The Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express was stranded for two hours near the station following the agitation, railway sources said.

No untoward incident was reported. Two platoons of police were deployed to maintain law and order.

The agitation was called off after ADM, Kalinga Nagar, Chakraudha Hota gave a written assurance stating that their demands would be conceded.
