Two ‘Maoists’ nabbed, arms seized

Two suspected Maoists were arrested on Monday from Chadakhia village in Kandhamal district during a combing operation.

 Police said they have been identified as Sarat Pradhan and Mosa Pradhan and were involved in providing logistical support to the Red rebels. Huge quantities of explosives were also seized from their possession. These include seven country-made guns, two soap case bombs, some improvised explosive devices, two detonators and a bundle of wires.

Police added that some more people were likely to be arrested after a thorough interrogation of  Sarat and Mosa. The combing operation was carried out by CRPF, SOG and district police personnel. Patrolling has been intensified in the area.
