Asha workers demand job regularisation

Thousands of Asha volunteers stormed the office of RDC (North) over their 22 demands, including regularisation of services, on Thursday.

Asha workers of Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Nuapada, Sonepur and Boudh districts participated. They also submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Their demands include payment of ` 11,000 a month, issuance of identity cards, inclusion in social security net, PF and pension, uniform pay and provision of mobile, bicycle, umbrella and torch to all Asha workers and a hike in payment per case from ` 200 to ` 450.
