Former journalist P Prakash Rao was found dead in his VSS Nagar home here on Thursday afternoon. Police suspect he may have died at least 48 hours ago.
Rao, about 40, is believed to have taken his own life but he was not found hanging and prima facie, no self-inflicted injury was found.
The matter came to light after Rao’s landlord found his house locked from inside for a couple of days. He broke open to find him dead and reported the matter to Saheed Nagar Police Station. About 10 days ago, Rao’s female partner had died.
Police have kept Rao’s body in the mortuary of Capital Hospital and is waiting for his family before it conducts the post-mortem. A case has been registered and investigation is on to ascertain the exact reason behind Rao’s death.
