Best practices on tribal development

With the objective of providing a platform to field level workers, researchers, development planners, implementing agencies, government officers and organisations for deliberation and exchange

of best practices in tribal development, a three-day National Conference on ‘Tribal people, natural resources and human well being’ got underway in Puri on Friday.

The conference, inaugurated by programme director of Jharkhand Tribal Development Society HS Gupta, would focus on tribal development issues such as forest, water, land, livelihood and governance.

The conference, organised by Odisha Tribal Empowerment and Livelihoods Programme (OTELP), SC & ST Welfare Department and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) would help devising and implementing effective programmes for tribal development, OTELP programme director Sushanta Nanda said.
