Three persons died in a road mishap near Jugal village along NH-5 in Mayurbhanj district on Saturday evening. Police said they were on their way to Baripada in a car.
The deceased have been identified as driver Surya Narayan Patra (25) of Choudwar. Shashibhusan Si (22) in Tulasichoura village under Baripada Town police limits and Bidyut Hazra (40) of West Bengal.
Police said Hazra was working in a jewellery shop in Baripada town. The mishap took place when the car in which they were travelling dashed against a stationary truck from behind. They died on the spot. Shashibhusan and Bidyut had hired the vehicle from Ramuna to come to Baripada.
