Narrow escape for principals

Principals of Navodaya Vidyalayas of Sambalpur, Phulbani and Jagatsinghpur had a close shave after a truck hit the car in which they were travelling at A Kantapali on NH-6 under Burla police limits on Monday.

Such was the impact of the collision that the car fell into a  nearby village tank. Eyewitness said the car was submerged completely in the water body.

While the truck driver fled, villagers bathing in the tank broke the glass panes of the car and rescued the three principals. They were rushed to the local hospital where doctors discharged them after first aid.

As per reports, the three were returning to the Navodaya Vidyalaya situated at Goshala under Burla police limits from Sambalpur when the incident took place.

Principal of Navodaya Vidyalaya at Goshala, Bidyasen Pattnaik was driving the vehicle while the other two were in the back seat.

A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab

the absconding truck driver.
