One more person reportedly succumbed to diarrhoea at Chikiti hospital on Monday, taking the toll to three.
The deceased has been identified as Suna Kunda of Samantarapur. Diarrhoea had claimed Ramesh Pradhan of Gothogaon last week while P Appana of Patrapur died on Sunday.
The disease which was first reported in two villages of Patrapur block has now spread to seven more. In the last 24 hours, 26 persons, including six children, have been affected with eight admitted to Patrapur
hospital.
Meanwhile, ADM Lingaraj Ratha visited the block on Tuesday and held discussions with health officials of the block.
Berhampur Sub-Collector Ajit Misra visited the area previous day.
Besides, four mobile health units have been stationed in the affected areas.
Since the disease reportedly spread through contaminated water, the water sources have been disinfected.
