The body of a 10-year-old, identified as Jishuram Meher, who had gone missing from his house in Sagarpali village under Sonepur police limits, was recovered from a dug well on Thursday morning.

The recovery of the decomposed body and the circumstantial evidence helped the police crack the mystery and arrest one Sananda Meher of thevillage.

Reports said the boy went missing on October 15 and after searching for him in vain, his father Hrushikesh Meher had lodged a complaint with the police. On Thursday morning, the bloated body was found floating in the dug well of one Pabitra Meher located in the backyard of the house. The body was found tied to a rope establishing that it was a case of murder.

The police tracked down Meher who confessed to the crime, committed over past enmity.
