It was a proud moment for 23-year-old Humane Sagar from Balangir as he bagged the title of Voice of Odisha (VOO) Season 2 at a glittering grand finale in Cuttack on Sunday last. Although he faced neck-to-neck competition from the other four finalists, the audience votes and jury marks made him a clear winner.

‘’I am very happy to have won the title. It has been a long journey and a wonderful learning experience,’’ an emotional Sagar said.

Voice of Odisha Season 2, whose journey started with 26 rising stars selected from more than 5,000 aspirants, was on for the last five months. The finale saw the top 5 contestants- Humane Sagar, Biswajit Mohapatra, Amrita Nayak, Shubhalakshmi Mohanty and Hitanshu Pattnaik- vying for the coveted title.

The young and talented finalists gave their best performances on the D-day before the results were out. The finale also gave a platform to the five contestants eliminated from the Top 10 to perform on a medley together.

Jury members Gudly Rath, Pammy Mishra, Tapu Mishra and Sarat Nayak also came together on stage to enthrall the audience. However, Bollywood singer Babul Supriyo, who appeared as the celebrity guest, was the star attraction, wowing the audiences with some energetic performances.

The winner received Rs 1 lakh award money from Ratikant Satpathy, AVP, Odisha Television Network on behalf of Tarang Channel and the VOO trophy from the jury members.

The event will be telecast on April 27 at 9 pm on Tarang.
